Gem & RareCraft Series

For fifteen years, RIGARDS has pursued one idea — that eyewear belongs in the language of jewellery. The Gem and RareCraft Series is where it arrives: frames drawn from precious metal and natural stone, shaped by a jeweller’s hand. Not a tool you reach for, but an object you wear, keep, and pass on.

RIGARDS presents the Gem and RareCraft Series, giving homage to the allure and craft of antique jewelry while proffering a re-appreciation of eyewear as jewelry for the face.

RIGARDS RG1081AG 24K Gold — the rimless Node design
The Node

CLEAN AT A DISTANCE

From across a room: a thin line of gold holding two lenses. Up close, the line thickens — angular nodes along each temple, drawn from the halt stroke in Eastern calligraphy, where the brush presses down to weight the tail of a character. The form began as a mid-century molecular model, softened as though the metal had been caught mid-pour.

The Material

SILVER REBORN

The silver has a past. RIGARDS forges its RareCraft frames from fragments gathered off master jewellers’ benches — what other finished work left behind, refined and begun again. The alloy is a contradiction in itself: rigid enough to hold a rimless lens, elastic enough to spring back into shape. One frame wears it polished. The other, under a single micron of 24k gold.

The Gemstones

A STONE IN EVERY NODE

RIGARDS sets its stones the way a jeweller does — chosen one at a time, polished into cabochons, held in nodes shaped to receive them. Lapis lazuli on the gold, deep blue shot through with pyrite. Turquoise on the sterling, with small diamonds across the bridge. Each stone is natural, so its veining and colour belong to it alone. A frame can be made again. A stone cannot.
