Two Australians. One obsession.
If you're reading this, you probably already sense that what's on your face matters. Not just how it looks - but how you see through it. How it feels after a long day. Whether it's truly right for you. Not everyone thinks about these things. You do. So do we.
We built Glassworks for people who care - about the details, about the craft, about getting it right. Two Australians in Tel Aviv, creating something we couldn't find anywhere else. This is how it started.

Why would you open a café and not make the best coffee?
I asked that as a child. Mediocrity never made sense to me. That question became how I see the world- and eventually, it became Glassworks.
I spent years travelling, not as a tourist, but as a guest. Living with people. Learning what it actually feels like when someone genuinely cares about your experience. That shaped everything.
What we've built here is that feeling. The warmth. The attention. The sense that you matter.
That same care goes into the collection. I love connecting with the designers and visiting their workshops. Learning what goes into every frame. The craft, the intention, and the years behind every detail.
All of which leads to the same place: helping you find that perfect piece.

The vision.
Often people think optometry is about getting the numbers right. It's not.
Every eye tells a story. How you work. How you rest. What you've adapted to without even realising.
My role is to read that story- and then help you see better because of it.
I came to Israel from Perth as a teenager. Built my life here. Studied, practised, researched, eventually started teaching.
But the thing that still gets me, after all these years, is the puzzle. Each person is different. Each solution is personal. There's no template.
Vision shapes how we experience everything. So this isn't just about getting the numbers right- it's about the journey. How your eyes change over time. Optimal vision. Comfort and clarity for the long term.
I'm proud to lead a team who see it the same way. Hand-selected optometrists, a new generation of vision care.

What we found in the mountains.
Milan, 2018. The biggest eyewear trade show in the world. Thousands of exhibitors. The entire industry under one roof- and yet it all looked the same.
Familiar shapes from familiar names. Polished, professional, forgettable.
Then I found a corner no one was talking about. Small booths with frames that felt different the moment I picked them up; designers who knew every detail of what they'd made.
A few days later, I was in the Dolomites. Small factories in mountain villages, families perfecting their craft for generations. The creativity, the innovation, the real quality; all of it tucked away where no one was looking.
I left knowing one thing: these artisans deserved a stage, and the people who'd love their work, a place to find them.
From vision to reality.
I came back from the Dolomites knowing what I wanted to build. Just didn't yet know how.
The mission was ambitious: bring together the world's finest independent eyewear with vision care that actually felt human. A deeply considered experience.
The eyewear and experience side was my mountain to climb. The optometry called for someone with the same uncompromising standards.
I found Noah, another Australian who saw it the same way. Together, the vision was complete.
Now it needed a home. Somewhere the space itself would shape the experience. We found a beautiful 1920s building on Nahalat Binyamin, UNESCO-listed. Eighteen months later, we opened.
It was harder than we ever expected.
Pandemic. War. And all the uncertainty that came with both. We survived by focusing on what mattered: the people who placed their trust in us, and doing everything we could to deserve it.
Five years later, many of our clients have become friends. They return. They send family. It's what we always hoped for. And something we never take for granted.
Front and centre. Every day.
Before you say a word or even shake hands, they're already speaking for you. In every photo, every meeting, every moment that matters.
They shape how people perceive you- and whether we like it or not, how they remember you.
This is what it all comes down to.
